Bhim Jayanti Celebration at Bahu Fort on 14th April 2025
jammu 14 April: A grand program was organized at Bahu Fort on 14th April 2025 under the chairmanship of Dewan Chand, District Chairman of the SC Department, J&K Congress, to celebrate Bhim Jayanti with great enthusiasm and reverence.

The event was graced by several prominent Congress leaders including Madan Lal Chalotra, Chairman of the OBC Department, J&K PCC Shamsher Bhagat Vice Chairman SC Dept JKPCC; Smt. Minu Jamwal, Chairperson of the Ladies Wing (K.K.C. Congress J&K); Smt. Reeta Kumari, former Corporator; Smt. Satya Devi; P.C. Sagotra; Ram Lal Sagotra; Dev Khokhar; H.L. Chalotra; Mangat Ram; Purab Chand; Deep Kumar, and others. The gathering paid floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, honoring his monumental role in drafting the Indian Constitution and his lifelong struggle for the rights of the marginalized. Speakers emphasized the importance of Article 19 of the Constitution, which guarantees the right to freedom of speech and expression, peaceful assembly, and free movement, calling them the cornerstones of democracy and reflective of Babasaheb Ambedkar’s vision of an inclusive and just society. They urged the youth to understand and uphold these constitutional values to preserve liberty and equality. Dewan Chand addressed the ongoing atrocities faced by marginalized communities in Jammu and Kashmir and called for urgent administrative and legal action. Madan Lal Chalotra, in his speech, demanded the immediate implementation of a caste census at the national level and a caste-based survey in Jammu and Kashmir to ensure accurate representation and social justice. The event concluded with a collective pledge to carry forward Dr. Ambedkar’s mission of equality, social justice, and empowerment, reaffirming the Congress party’s dedication to the principles of secularism, democracy, and inclusive development.
