Bhupinder Kumar visits Udhampur; Assesses progress on major departmental projects
UDHAMPUR, May 12: Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar, today conducted extensive tour of Udhampur and took stock of major ongoing departmental projects including construction of new Government Medical College in the district.
Secretary visited the construction sites of GMC Udhampur, 200 bedded teaching district hospital and makeshift building of GMC Udhampur. He issued on spot instructions to the executing agencies for expediting completion of these projects, in a time bound manner, by way of deployment of additional manpower and increasing number of shifts at the construction sites.
Bhupinder Kumar exhorted upon the Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur and Principal GMC Udhampur to monitor progress and regularly review these projects to ensure timely completion of these prestigious works. He also emphasized upon them to ensure that the makeshift college building of GMC is completed by May-2023 in all respects so that the college would be ready to receive 1st batch of MBBS students from July-2023.
Secretary also interacted with the Principal and faculty members of GMC Udhampur and stressed upon them to render their services with utmost care, compassion and professional integrity, keeping patient care at the core. He also impressed upon the medical fraternity for improving public service delivery through various schemes including AB-PMJAY SEHAT, Janani Suraksha Yojana and leveraging the latest online initiatives of Health and Medical Education Department.
During his visit, Secretary was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Principal GMC Udhampur, Joint Director Planning, H&ME besides other officers of executing agencies and Health Department.
