“Bihar is tired of Nitish Kumar,” says State BJP chief over police officer’s death
Patna (Bihar) [India], August 15 (ANI): Bihar Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday hit out at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar after an SHO was shot dead by cattle smugglers in Samastipur district and said that “Bihar is tired.”
The BJP chief said that police officers are killed by criminals in the state and the state government is “sleeping comfortably” adding that the CM is “embarrassing the democracy of Bihar.”
“It is the bad luck of Bihar that here the Chief Minister is sick, his party is also sick and now CM Nitish Kumar is working on making Bihar also sick… He is embarrassing the democracy of Bihar… Here it’s not criminals but the police officers who are getting killed… Some by sand mafia, or by smugglers, police officers are beaten up daily by these criminals… But the Bihar government headed by Nitish Babu is sleeping comfortably, his ears don’t catch this news… This is the situation in Bihar. He promised many things, but now Bihar is tired… Bihar is tired of Nitish Kumar Ji… In the last 18 years, Nitish Ji cannot do anything in Bihar… He doesn’t want to allocate land for the airport, four lanes and AIIMS…,” Samrat Choudhary said.
Earlier today, the State House Officer (SHO) of Mohanpur police station in Bihar’s Samastipur died after being shot at by cattle smugglers.
According to the police, SHO Nandkishore Yadav succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) in Patna.
Samastipur Superintendent of Police (SP) Vinay Kumar said that SHO Yadav was shot above his eye during a cattle theft investigation.
“There were incidents of cattle theft for the past few days in the Mohanpur area. Mohanpur OP in-charge SHO Nandkishore Yadav was looking into the matter. During the investigation, a gang from Nalanda come to the fore. Yesterday, there was information that some miscreants were trying to steal cattle. After getting the information, the police team caught three thieves, a truck and a pickup vehicle. During interrogation of the thieves they received information about the other gang members & he (Nandkishore Yadav) left with his team to nab the other gang members…The other gang members opened fire & the bullet hit him above his eye…,” SP Vinay Kumar said.
The SHO was rushed to a hospital in Begusarai following the incident. He was then shifted to IGIMS after his condition turned critical.
