Biotechnology, Innovation Converge at GCW Gandhinagar’s Collaborative Workshop with JKSTIC

JAMMU, DECEMBER 27: Department of Biotechnology, Government College for Women Gandhinagar, in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Science Technology and Innovation Council (JKSTIC) Udhampur, today hosted a soft activity focused on Biotechnology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.


The event brought together students, faculty, and experts to explore the potential of biotechnology in driving innovation and fostering entrepreneurial ventures.
The workshop featured insightful sessions by distinguished resource persons. Prof. Dr. Manmohan Sharma from SKUAST focused on the crucial role of crop biotechnology in promoting entrepreneurship. He also highlighted the opportunities presented by biotechnology parks for students seeking to venture into this field.


Dr. Shelly Sehgal from the Central University Jammu further enriched the discussion by elaborating on the intersection of innovation and entrepreneurship, with a specific focus on the role of the biotechnology park in Kathua.


Dr. Divya Bakshi skilfully anchored the function, ensuring its smooth flow and facilitating engaging interactions. The organizing committee, comprising Dr. Urvika, Dr. Ruqqiah, Dr. Vikas Bhagat and Dr. Ashok Kumar, worked diligently to ensure the event’s success.


District Coordinator of JKSTIC Udhampur Shruti Khanna played a pivotal role in organizing the event.


Earlier, Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), extended a warm welcome to all attendees on behalf of the college Principal. He encouraged the students to be active in these types of events to have a better understanding of recent trends in the field.


Dr. Rahul Sharma delivered the vote of thanks. The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and organizations like JKSTIC in promoting scientific advancement and fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among young minds.
