BIS-JKBO conduct Sensitization programme for District Level Officers at Anantnag
ANANTNAG, February 23: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Jammu and Kashmir Branch Office, today organized a Sensitization Programme for the District Level Officers of Anantnag district at Dak Bungalow Anantnag.
The programme was presided over by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Wani and was attended by R. K. Hakim Chief Education Officer, Syed Ishfaq Ahmad Ex. Engineer R&B, Peer Zameer Ahmad ALC Labour, Nazir Ahmad Malik Secretary Municipal Council Anantnag, Misba Gani TPO Skill Development Department, Dr Zubair Kabli DSHO Sheep Husbandry and sectoral officers of the district.
During the programme, Pankaj Atri (Joint Director BIS-JKBO) gave a detailed presentation on department specific standards, Standards Formulation, Product Certification, Hallmarking and Compulsory Registration Scheme.
A demonstration of the BIS portal with title ‘Know Your Standards’ through which standards can be easily located and downloaded free of cost was also presented.
Awareness on ISI mark and Hallmark and how to frame specifications for various departmental tenders and GeM portal was imparted during the programme.
The BIS Officer also highlighted various initiatives of the BIS in bringing quality products to the customers. Downloading of BIS care app and its demonstration was also done and all features were explained.
They said that the aim and objective of today’s programme is to aware the Heads of Departments in the district about the Quality checks of the standard products and laws to control the substandard products in the market.
The programme was summarized by ADDC. He requested his team to work in consensus and help each other out in various initiatives for the betterment of society and to create a robust environment.
