BJP Govt failed to fulfill the promises made with KP migrants: Rattan Lal Gupta
Says NC, always stood with KP migrant community for their well beings.
JAMMU April 28th: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, has asserted that BJP govt failed to fulfill the promises made with KP’s migrants whether it was dignified rehabilitation special package for employment to the youths or enhancement of monthly cash assistance.
The senior NC leader was speaking while interacting with a delegation of Kashmiri camps and non camps migrants headed by Bushan Lal Bhat, Chairman of J&K NC Minority Cell and Ex MLC, at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu.
Bushan Lal Bhat former MLC said that most of the Kashmiri migrant community residing in Jagti, Purkhoo, Muthi, Buta Nagar, Nagrota, Camps, and non-camp migrants settled in Jammu, Kathua, and Udhampur districts, have extended whole heartdly full support to all three Parliamentary Constituencies of the Kashmir Province as there is no option for them to vote and support other candidates except National Conference candidates in valley.
Expressing gratitude towards the migrants community, Rattan Lal Gupta has asserted that National Conference has always stood for the cause of Kashmiri Migrants and shall continue the same for all times to come while Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has only exploited them to the hilt by making hollow promises. He said that the BJP Govt had made promises to rehabilitate the KP migrants in the Valley but these proved to be a cruel joke as no steps were taken in this direction since 2014. He dared the BJP Govt to reveal what steps have been taken by it for employment of KP unemployed youth including those who are now barred due to their being over aged.
Mr Gupta said that it is really unfortunate that despite increased cost of living amid sky rocketing prices and peak inflation the cash assistance being paid to the Kashmiri Migrants has not been enhanced for the past so many years. He said that the Kashmiri migrants are unable to meet their ends with the meager cash assistance and these people are out on roads protesting for relief enhancement and other issues. He promised that a reasonable hike in the cash assistance shall be announced as soon as India alliance voted in power.
During the regime of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, several mini-townships for Kashmiri migrant community were constructed and established at Jagti and other areas adjoining the Jammu city. He also enumerated the measures taken by the National Conference during its various spells of governance for addressing the concerns and issues of the displaced community.
Rattan Lal Gupta said that if India alliance voted in power appropriate one time settlement compensation shall be given to the over aged Kashmiri Pandit youth. He also reiterated that the National Conference has always stood for the cause of Kashmiri migrants and shall continue its fight for their cause for ever.
The senior NC leader appealed to the migrant community to strengthen the hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah by supporting to all the three candidates of National Conference from Kashmir valley Mr Mian Altaf Ahmed from Anantnag – Rajouri Parliamentary Consitituency, Aga Syed Rahullah from Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency and Mr Omar Abdullah from Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls in Kashmir as there is no other option with KP migrants to support and vote whole heartedly to National Conference candidates in Kashmir Valley.
The delegation comprised: Pardeep Bali Provincial Secretary Jammu, Jatin Bhat, Ashok Koul, Shreya Handoo, Kaka Ji Bhan, Ravinder Ji and others.
