BJP Kashmir Displaced District meets SSP Jammu to Enhance Security Measures in Kashmiri Pandit Camps

JAMMU, November 20: In a proactive move to address pressing security issues, a delegation from the BJP Kashmir Displaced District, led by District President Chand Ji Bhat, met with SSP Jammu Vinod Kumar today. The delegation handed over a memorandum highlighting critical concerns affecting the safety and well-being of the Kashmiri Pandit community in the region.

District Vice Presidents Chetan Wanchoo ,Sanjay Bhat,Vimal Raina,Treasurer P.K.Bhat , Secretary Chaman Lal Pandita ,Mandal President Pyara Lal Pandita were also present.

The identified issues and recommendations are as follows:

1. *Manpower Increase at Jagti Police Post:*

   The delegation emphasized the urgent need to bolster the manpower at the Jagti Police Post. Inadequate staffing levels currently compromise the effective handling of security challenges. A strengthened personnel presence will enhance operational efficiency and responsiveness.

2. *Vandalism of Vehicles:*

   Recent incidents of vehicle vandalism necessitate intensified efforts to apprehend culprits and implement preventive measures. Such acts pose a significant threat to public and private property, requiring immediate attention.

3. *Night Patrolling at KP Camps:*

   To ensure the safety of residents, the delegation recommended frequent and comprehensive nighttime patrolling at Kashmiri Pandit camps in TRT Purkhoo, Muthi Camp, Jagti Camp, and TRT Nagrota camp. This proactive measure aims to deter criminal activities and enhance residents’ sense of security.

4. *Security at Up & Down Gates of Jagti:*

   Enhanced security measures, including strengthened surveillance and personnel presence, are imperative at both the up and down gates of Jagti. These measures are crucial to preventing unauthorized access and fortifying the overall security infrastructure.

5. *Awareness Campaigns:*

   The delegation proposed monthly campaigns on drug awareness, crime prevention, and Police-public meetings to foster community engagement. Such initiatives aim to build trust and create a sense of partnership between law enforcement and the public, contributing to a safer environment.

Furthermore, the delegation raised the issue of CCTV camera installation at Jagti and other KP Camps. SSP Jammu promptly addressed this concern by speaking with Relief Commissioner K K Sidha, directing SP Rural Rahul Charak to prioritize the installation.

Additionally, the absence of 24/7 stationed fire brigade vehicles at Jagti was highlighted, emphasizing the need for immediate attention to ensure swift response in case of untoward incidents.
