BJP Launches ‘Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Samman Abhiyan’ to Commemorate Ambedkar Jayanti from 13th April to 25th April: Parmod Kapahi

Jammu 11 April: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a series of programmes under the banner of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Samman Abhiyan, to be observed from April 13 to April 25, in honour of the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

The announcement was made by Parmod Kapahi, senior BJP leader and Incharge of the Abhiyan for Jammu & Kashmir, during a press conference held at the party’s headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. He was accompanied by Abhiyan Committee Members Sanjita Dogra, President of BJP Mahila Morcha, and senior leaders Sanjay Kumar Baru and Rekha Mahajan.

While addressing the media, Kapahi underscored Dr. Ambedkar’s monumental contribution as the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and his tireless efforts toward empowering the marginalized and underprivileged sections of society. He emphasized that the BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, remains committed to furthering Dr. Ambedkar’s vision through its focus on Antyodaya — the upliftment of the last person in the queue.

Sharing the list of programmes to be commemorated under the Abhiyan, Kapahi said that BJP will hold cleanliness drives on the statues of Baba Saheb and then illuminate the adjoining area on 13th of April.

While offering the floral tributes on the statues and the portraits of Baba Saheb, the party activists will organize multiple programmes to celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Baba Saheb on 14th of April.

From 15 April to 25 April, the party will organize District level Seminars to highlight the life-struggles and the achievements of Baba Saheb, in which his contributions to the nation, and society especially the oppressed persons will be emphasized.

During the same period from 15 April to 25 April, 25 designated BJP leaders in each district will reach out to five prominent individuals from the Scheduled Caste community as part of an outreach initiative.

Sanjay Baru said that the campaign aims to honour the enduring legacy of Dr. Ambedkar and further his message of Samrasta (social harmony) across all sections of society.
