BJP Minority Morcha Celebrates “Minority Rights Day” at Jammu
JAMMU December 19:The Bharatiya Janata Party Minority Morcha celebrated “Minority Rights Day” in the party headquarters Trikuta Nagar here today in order to spread awareness and promote the rights of religious minorities.
Newly elected President Minority Morcha J&K Ranjodh Singh Nalwa was felicitated on this occasion.
The event was marked by felicitation program and speeches by prominent figures.
By highlighting the plight of marginalized minority communities and stressing the importance of respecting their rights, it was a strong overture in favor of peace and harmony in Jammu as also throughout India. Moreover, by bringing together a diverse group of people to share their experiences and struggles related to minority rights, it demonstrated an unwavering commitment to creating a more tolerant society that values the contributions and culture of all its citizens.
BJP state Chief Ravinder Raina delivered a powerful and thought-provoking lecture on the importance of respecting minority communities. He explored the human rights implications of discrimination against ethnic, racial, religious, cultural, sexual and linguistic minorities. Drawing extensively on course material and historical examples, Raina advocated for greater appreciation and protection of diversity in all its forms. He highlighted how targeted policies and campaigns that promote inclusion can support the success of minority groups. His lecture was received with a round of applause from the attentive audience and offered valuable insight into how societies can overcome bigotry to build more equitable societies for everyone.
State BJP general secretary Ashok Koul in his address emphasised on the importance of respecting the rights of minorities. With an extensive career in both social and public service, Koul focused his address on highlighting the diverse cultures and communities who exist within India and the need to celebrate this diversity. He stressed that every person has rights which must be protected regardless of their background or beliefs, “it is imperative for our society to foster an environment based on respect for all individuals,” he claimed. He further urged people to strive for a society without discrimination. “Always be mindful of how we can embrace fundamental human rights for all citizens equally, fostering greater understanding between individuals and ideologies,” he added.
Ranjodh Singh Nalwa thanked the state as well as central leadership for the honour to represent minorities in Jammu and Kashmir. Singh further said that he will work wholeheartedly for the minority communities in J&K up to the entire satisfaction of the party and the society. He also focussed on the rights of minorities in India noting that it was essential for individuals belonging to minority communities to be permitted to lead their lives with complete autonomy and dignity without any discrimination based on their faith, caste or creed. He highlighted key issues such as access to employment, education and healthcare opportunities.
In addition, he stressed on the importance of upholding freedom of speech, thought and expression for all citizens irrespective of their religious affiliations. He concluded his remarks by stressing that minority rights must remain at the centre stage of policy initiatives inspired by inclusivity agenda.
Prominent among those who expressed their views on the occasion included Sheikh Bashir, Bupinder Singh, Santokh Singh, Ikhlaq Wani, Imtiaz Bhat, Harpal Singh and others.
