BJP OBC Morcha Paid Floral tribute to Shaheed Ram Chander Vidyarthi

JAMMU, April 01: BJP OBC Morcha paid floral Tribute to Shaheed Prajapati Ram Chander Vidyarthi, on his birth anniversary, who had laid his life for the Nation on 14 August 1942, at the age of 13 years and 4 months while hoisting the Indian Tri Colour Flag at the office of District Magistrate replacing Crown flag in a bid to intensify the freedom struggle against the British Govt as a part the Quit India Movement struggle.  

The Tribute Program was organized by Sunil Prajapati, State President BJP OBC Morcha at BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

Munish Sharma, BJP Senior Leader, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, BJP Media Incharge, Rajinder Chib, Pardeep Choudhary, Surinder Singh, Suresh Salgotra, Anil Balgotra, Ashok Salgotra, Rakesh Thakrey, Tirth Ram, Hukam Chand Dogra, Rakesh Mandal and Ajay Kashyap paid loral tributes on the occasion.

Munish Sharma, BJP Senior Leader while paying tribute on this occasion said that Ram Chander Vidyarthi was born on 01 April 1929 to Shri Babulal Prajapati and Mata Moti rani, in the village Nautan Hathiyagarh, situated in the Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh.  He had an ardent passion for the cause of the freedom movement as early as studying in seventh standard.  Mahatma Gandhi had declared the Quit India Movement on 09 August 1942.  A large number of people of District Deoria also participated in masses in the Quit India Movement.  Ram Chander Vidyarthi who was in 7th class showed great resentment against British Rule and along with his friends reached the District Headquarter on 14 August 1942 and hoisted the Indian Tricolour Flag on the top of office of District Magistrate.   When after a lot of warning from British authorities, he didn’t respond, the British Army opened fire. In which Ram Chander Vidyarthi martyred for the sake of Nation to make the Quit India Movement a success.  In the History, Ram Chander Vidyarthi was the only who laid his life for the Nation at the very young age of 13 years.

Munish Sharma further stated that in the Memory of Ram Chander Vidyarthi a Pillar has been raised with a plate carved the name of Ram Chander Vidhyarthi, near the Ram Lila Maidan of Deoria. The name of Ram Chander Vidyarthi is included in the list of the Martyrs of freedom fighters with very less age from Purvanchal. It is a matter of great pride of the Nation for his great sacrifice for the sake of the Nation in the Freedom struggle.
