“BJP people now expressing their frustration”: AAP leader slams “attack” on Kejriwal
New Delhi [India], January 18 (ANI): Aam Admi Party (AAP) has alleged that “a BJP goon” attacked the car of former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and that “BJP people” were expressing their frustration over their “not getting the support of people” in the Delhi polls.
“BJP people are now expressing their frustration in this way. Recently MHA had said that there is a threat to Arvind Kejriwal. It should also have been said that it is from BJP people only,” AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar told ANI.
She also hit out at BJP candidate Parvesh Verma, who is contesting against Kejriwal from New Delhi seat.
“Now Parvesh Verma has become completely frustrated…Definitely, we will pursue whatever legal remedy is available. But this is not a small matter. Arvind Kejriwalji is one of the most popular leaders in the country, playing with his security is not a good thing,” she said.
After the Aam Aadmi Party accused the Bharatiya Janata Party “goons” of attacking Kejriwal, BJP candidate Parvesh Verma alleged that the former Chief Minister’s vehicle “ran over” one of their party workers.
Verma said a worker had suffered a leg fracture and had been admitted to the Lady Hardinge Medical College.
Parvesh Verma also posted a video on the social media platform X, and accused Kejriwal of hitting people with his car, who were asking questions from him.
“When the people were asking questions, Arvind Kejriwal hit two youngsters with his car,” Verma stated on X.
AAP shared a video on their official X handle which purportedly shows a stone being thrown at the Arvind Kejriwal’s car.
Delhi will go to the polls on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8. The New Delhi Assembly seat will see a triangular contest between Kejriwal, BJP’s Parvesh Verma and Congress’ Sandeep Dikshit.
