NC vows to provide ‘Roti, Kapda Aur Makaan’ for EWS family of J&K
JAMMU, August 29: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), reaffirmed the Party’s commitment to the welfare of the EWS by ensuring the provision of basic necessities such as Roti, Kapda Aur Makaan.
Speaking at the joining programme held at Sher e Kashmir Bhawan Jammu, Rattan Lal emphasized that National Conference, through its vision and manifesto, is dedicated to the overall development and upliftment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the underprivileged. The programme was organized by Mrs Bimla Luthra former MLA and State Vice President women wing JKNC.
The Senior NC leader lambasted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its “utter frustration” in the face of the strong Alliance between the National Conference and Congress in the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted that the BJP’s declining popularity was evident during the recent Lok Sabha elections, where the INDIA Alliance, of which NC and Congress are key constituents, gave a major setback to the saffron party. He predicted that the same outcome would be witnessed in the forthcoming Assembly elections, with the INDIA Alliance emerging victorious.
Citing major surveys, Rattan Lal stated that the INDIA Alliance is poised to secure over 30 seats in the Jammu region alone in the ensuing polls, reflecting the resounding support from the people for a progressive, inclusive, and development-oriented leadership. “Under the historic ‘Land to Tiller’ initiative, the National Conference has always prioritized the welfare of farmers, ensuring that land was distributed to the tillers. Our commitment to agrarian reforms will continue to guide our policies,” he said, reiterating the NC’s focus on the farming community as well as the general public.
The Provincial President emphasised that the National Conference in its poll manifesto has committed to implement the National Food Security Act, ensuring food security for all citizens. Additionally, the party’s manifesto includes significant promises such as provide Rs 5,000 per month to female heads of households to EWS, Provide One Lac Jobs to J&K youths, offering 12 LPG cylinders per family per year to EWS and provision of free 200 power units for every household.
While welcoming the newly joined members into Party fold, Rattan Lal Gupta said that their decision to join the National Conference reflects the growing trust people have in the party’s vision. He assured them that their contributions would strengthen the party’s efforts to restore peace, development, and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in the face of current challenges. He also asked the newly joined members to remain active in their respective areas and ensure victory of NC in the upcoming Assembly polls.
The senior NC leader urged the people to support and vote for National Conference candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections, with an aim to bring positive change and ensure that the party’s pro-people policies are implemented.
