The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stands firmly behind to the players who are bringing laurels to the country.
This was stated by Rakesh Mahajan, Incharge All Cells, BJP, J&K during a program organized by the Party’s Sports Cell, aimed at interacting with athletes ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. On the occasion, Ved Sharma, Co Incharge, BJP All Cells, Convenor Sports Cell Sumit Sharma, CoConvenors Ritika Mahajan and Rajeshwar Singh and Parghat Singh were present.
Rakesh Mahajan highlighted that BJP has begun a campaign to collect suggestions from people across the country for its manifesto ahead of the Lok Sabha Election. As a part of this campaign, the party is introducing “Sujhav Peti” (Suggestion Box), where people from all sections of society can submit their suggestions for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election manifesto.
The senior BJP leader said today Sports is not just an extracurricular activity but an integral part and parcel of education. Beyond the physical benefits, sports instill essential values like teamwork, discipline, and resilience, which are crucial for personal development and success in life. Engaging in sports activities fosters holistic growth, promoting mental agility and emotional well-being alongside academic achievements. It teaches invaluable life lessons such as leadership, sportsmanship, and the importance of fair play, shaping individuals into well-rounded and responsible citizens. Therefore, integrating sports into educational curriculums is vital for nurturing the holistic development of students and preparing them for the challenges of the future, he added.
Today’s program marked the BJP’s outreach to the budding athletes of Jammu and Kashmir, recognizing their pivotal role in bringing honor to the nation through their remarkable achievements at national and international levels, Rakesh Mahajan said, commending Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts in bolstering sports infrastructure across the country, resulting in Indian athletes creating history by winning a record 111 medals in the recently concluded Asian Games.
Rakesh Mahajan asked the budding sports players to give their valuable suggestions in shaping the Party’s manifesto for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. He encouraged them to submit their recommendations through written submissions, missed calls, or via the NAMO App, ensuring their voices are heard in the policymaking process.
Later, Rakesh Mahajan also distributed sports kits among players from diverse sports streams in Jammu and Kashmir, including cricket, football, hockey, and gymnastics to promote sports culture in the Union Territory.2
