BJP using negative agenda against NC-Congress alliance to distract from its own failures in governance, Rattan Lal Gupta
NC will secure comfortable majority in Assembly polls
Jammu September 20: Provincial President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), Rattan Lal Gupta, has reaffirmed that the National Conference (NC) remains the sole champion of restoring true democracy in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a gathering at a joining programme held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu, Organized by Sardar Jatinder Singh Lucky Vice Chairman Cantt. Board Jammu. Rattan Lal Gupta accused BJP of fearing from the NC and its leaderships and resorting to the use of a negative agenda against NC-Congress alliance to distract from its own failures in governance.
The senior NC leader criticized the BJP’s failed development narrative in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the party’s inability to address basic public needs. “The BJP has miserably failed to provide basic amenities to the people, and their narrative of development has completely collapsed in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
Recalling the pivotal role played by Dr. Farooq Abdullah in restoring democracy in Jammu and Kashmir in 1996, Rattan Lal Gupta contrasted it with the current state of affairs under BJP rule. “Instead of strengthening democracy, the BJP has divided a full-fledged state into two Union Territories, stripping the people of their political rights,” he stated.
Expressing concern over recent polling, Rattan Lal pointed out that the high voter turnout in Assembly elections was a clear reflection of the people’s frustration with the BJP. “The high turnout is not an endorsement of BJP’s policies, but rather an expression of public outrage against their misgovernance and failure to deliver.”
Rattan Lal Gupta expressed confidence in the NC’s return to power, asserting that the party will secure a comfortable majority in the upcoming elections. “The National Conference, with its pro-people policies and commitment to development, is the only party capable of delivering for the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
