BJP working on mission mode to form Govt in J&K: Dr Jitendra Singh

‘Double engine govt will transform J&K & ensure it plays decisive role in new India’

Jammu, 2 Sept: The Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh, on Monday said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government are working hard on a vision to ensure that J&K plays “an important and decisive role” in the fast-developing new India and for that the BJP is working hard to “form its government” here.

We are working on mission mode to form BJP government here in J&K, Dr Jitendra said.

“Double engine ki Sarkar i.e BJP government both at Centre and in J&K is required to take J&K forward and ensure that it (J&K) plays a major and decisive role in the fast the fast-developing India as also in 2047 when we would be celebrating 100 years of our Independence,” Dr Jitendra said, while addressing media persons here today.

He said that India would soon India would be 3rd largest economy of the world and “J&K will play an important role in this”.

Dr Jitendra said that Assembly elections are being held in J&K after a gap of 10 years. “After abrogation of Article 370, this would be the first election after which the term of Assembly in J&K would be for 5 years”.

This, he said, has become possible due to abrogation of Article 370. Dr Jitendra also accused the Congress and the National Conference (NC) of using Article 370 for their own political benefits.

“After revocation of Article 370, 2.5 crore tourists visited J&K,” Dr Jitendra said, while adding, “The politicians who are now demanding its restoration could not come out of their homes earlier but now they enjoy ice-cream at Lal Chowk”.

BJP Government abrogated Article 370 and brought peace and development, Dr Jitendra said and added, “The youth of the Kashmir Valley now wants to be part of the development journey started by PM Modi”.

“Congress brought 73rd and 74th Amendments which were implemented everywhere in the country but not in J&K,” the Union Minister said, while adding, “After revocation of Article 370 by Modi Government,  these amendments are now implemented in J&K”.

Now, funds for various development works are transferred directed to the local bodies and panchayats, he said and added, “Many revolutionary steps have been and are being taken to take J&K forward”.

Dr Jitendra said that BJP’s vision for J&K is transparent governance, development, strengthening democracy and optimum use of natural resources.

This vision, he said, “is based on three points i.e democratization of democratic processes, development by exploring undeveloped sectors and governance through self governance”.

The Union Minister also said that the previous governments stalled many projects due to varied reasons. “In 2014, when Modi became the Prime Minister of the country, the projects like Shahpur-Kandi, Rattle Project and some others were started,” Dr Jitendra said, while adding, “Five new power projects have also been started in Kishtwar”.

BJP’s National Spokesperson, RP Singh and BJP’s State Press Secretary, Dr Pardeep Mahotra were also present on the occasion.
