BJP’s proxy Govt in J&K proved damp squib: Rattan Lal

Support National Conference in upcoming polls for a brighter future 

DODA September 9th: The proxy government of Jammu and Kashmir run by the Bharatiya Janata Party from the Centre has failed in every sphere plunging the people of this sensitive region into an ocean of miseries. The height of mis-governance can be well gauged from the fact that today the people of J&K are craving even for the basic amenities and facilities essential for their very survival.

This was stated by Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President JKNC while addressing a day-long convention of party workers at district Doda. Notably, Rattan Lal Gupta along with Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Provincial Secretary and senior party leader Pardeep Bali visited Doda town to address the convention. Khalid Najeev  Suhrawardy former minister and Provincial Vice President, NC, Jammu Province and Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo Zone President Chenab Valley were also present.

Rattan Lal Gupta lamented that the present government has dejectedly failed to address political and developmental aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that lack of direction and political will have compounded miseries of people of J&K. He said BJP Government rather than engaging with aggrieved people with an aim to address their issues, had chosen to tread a path of isolation, arrogance and confrontation contradicting the promises made to the people of J&K. 

Earlier, Zaffer Ullah Rather, District President, Doda, apprised the senior functionaries of Party about the hardships being faced by the people of Jammu region. He said people residing in remote areas of district Doda are deprived of the basic amenities under the present regime.

The senior NC leader criticized the government for its failure to provide the basic amenities despite making tall claims of good governance. He asked the government to prioritize the needs of the people residing in rural and far flung areas of district Doda and allocate necessary resources to improve the living standards and overall quality of life in the region.

Rattan Lal asked party workers to gear up for the upcoming ULB and Panchayat polls and made the public aware of the significant contributions that the National Conference has made to the development of the state. 

Khalid Najeev Suhrawardy former minister, Provincial Vice President, NC, Jammu Province, in his address, lamented that the incumbent Govt is making tall claims of transparency and corruption free society but the fact remains that corruption rules the roost. He claimed that once the NC wins the ULB elections it will definitely eradicate corruption and promote transparency in the working of government, the working of which has suffered badly under the present regime.

Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo former minister and  President Chenab Valley Zone JKNC asserted that disenchantment among the people has reached an unprecedented level, adding that the sense of anti-incumbency against this present government has reached to unbearable extent. He asked the party cadre to remain present among the people and make them aware about the key achievements of the NC regime. He asked them to further strengthen the party at the grass roots level and gear up for unprecedented success in the impending elections.

Sheikh Ahmed Bashir, Provincial Secretary, Pardeep Bali,Qazi Jalal Ud Din Ex-MLA, Dr. Chaman Lal Bhagat Ex-MLA, Hasim Hashmi, Surshad Natnoo BDC Chairman  appealed to the people of district Doda to strength the hands of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah in the upcoming elections for a brighter future.
