BJYM organised Vilay Daud on Accession Day

JAMMU, October 26: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) JK organized a massive Vilay Daud Marathon in which hundreds of youngsters have participated, to commemorate Accession Day in a spirited display of unity and celebration. The event  gathered participants and spectators from all walks of life, was of great success, highlighting the deep-rooted nationalism and enthusiasm of the Jammunities.

Vilay Daud, a tribute to the nationalist forces and martyrs of 1947 of Jammu Kashmir, was ceremoniously flagged off by distinguished guests, including UT President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sh. Ravinder Raina;  Former Deputy CM of Jammu Kashmir, Sh. KavinderGupta ; Senior Leader BJP, Sh Aseem Gupta,
Hundreds of young passionate runners from all age groups and backgrounds participated in the marathon. The Vilay Daud Marathon reminded the youth of Jammu and Kashmir of the supreme sacrifices laid down by the nationalist forces, including the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir, Hari Singh, in the process of acceding Jammu and Kashmir to the Union of India.

UT  President BJP Ravinder Raina on this occasion expressed that  “The entire Jammu Kashmir region is celebrating this day with great enthusiasm, for it comes as a tribute to the supreme sacrifices made by our fellow nationalists.” Raina likened Vilay Diwas to Republic and Independence Day for the people of Jammu Kashmir, emphasizing that this day symbolizes the historic moment when Maharaja Hari Singh officially united Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India through the Instrument of Accession.
Former Deputy CM Kavinder Gupta, speaking on the occasion, pointed out the ongoing illegal occupation of some parts of Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistan and China. He expressed hope that one day the tricolor will be hoisted in these areas as well. Gupta also remarked on the historical context, noting that the Congress failed to support Maharaja Hari Singh and the state of Jammu & Kashmir during its time of need.

In his address, Sharma emphasized India’s commitment to respecting its minorities, highlighting that individuals from minority communities have held esteemed positions, including Prime Minister and President, further showcasing India’s dedication to inclusivity and diversity.

Arun Prabhat, the UT President BJYM, took the opportunity to remember the vital role played by Maharaja Hari Singh, dogra forces and the series of events that led to the unification of Jammu Kashmir with the Dominion of India. He also expressed concerns about the negative role played by former Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru and Sheikh Abdullah in the region’s history and their vicious role in the exile of the Maharaja Hari Singh from the state.

He further said that as the people of Jammu & Kashmir unite to celebrate Vilay Diwas, it serves as a day of remembrance, honoring the sacrifices and historical significance that have shaped the geography and history of the region. This day reaffirms the strong bond between the people of Jammu & Kashmir and the rest of India, as they stand together to commemorate their shared history.
