Block Diwas: Grievance Redressal Camp held at Kathua
KATHUA, January 04: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey along with Vice Chairman DDC Raghunandan Singh today presided over Block Diwas proceedings at Conference Hall of DC Office here today.
BDC Chairperson Kathua, Raghubir Singh; BDC Chairperson Block Barnoti, Brijeshwar Singh; BDC Chairperson, Block Nagri, Khajan Chand; ADDC Kathua, Ankur Mahajan; DDC member Nagri, Sandeep Majotra; officers of line departments and PRI members were present on the occasion.
Scores of individuals and deputations including PRI members projected demands and apprised the DC about the problems faced by the inhabitants of their respective areas.
The people of block Kathua and peripheral areas highlighted issues seeking the provision of better road connectivity, drinking water supply, uninterrupted power supply and other basic amenities.
The PRIs also demanded demarcation of ponds under Amrit Sarovar, compensation to owners for the land acquired for Dani-Farl PMGSY road, provision of Play ground in Panchayat Sahar, release of pending MGNREGA liabilities, repair of defunct hand pumps etc.
After giving a patient hearing to the demands of the people, the DC passed on spot instructions to the concerned departments for time bound resolution of all the issues
Interacting with the participants, the DC said that Block Diwas initiative was aimed at reaching out to the people and listening to their grievances and redressing the same in an efficient and coordinated manner. He enjoined upon the concerned officers to prioritize the grievances and redress them in a time bound manner.
Vice Chairperson DDC, in his address, appealed to PRIs to work in close coordination with district administration so that the development targets under different schemes can be achieved within the set timelines.
