Block Diwas held in 3 blocks of Kulgam; DC listens issues of people for early redressal

KULGAM, September 27: As part of the ambitious weekly Block Diwas programme and with an aim to strengthen the grievances redressal mechanism in the district, the District Administration Kulgam today organized public outreach programmes in three blocks of the district viz. Devsar, Kulgam and D.H Pora to take appraisal of the public issues, grievances and demands.

To take firsthand appraisal of public grievances and demands, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat presided over the grievance redressal camp at Kulgam.

The grievance redressal programme witnessed participation of people from Hadigam, Mohammadpora, Behibagh, Okey, Orail, Nigeenpora, Kund, Katrasoo and other areas and put forth various demands including establishment of bank branch,  construction of Bridge, construction/ Macadamisation of road besides other developmental issues.

PRI members and people of various other areas also apprised the DC about their issues and grievances besides projecting various developmental demands of their areas.

Officers and heads of departments responded to the queries and grievances of the people pertaining to their departments and intimated them about various welfare schemes and ongoing developmental projects.

The DC after giving patient hearing to the public addressed some of the immediate nature of grievances on the spot.

Earlier, ACD Kulgam also briefed about the action taken on various grievances and issues raised in previous Block Diwas.

Meanwhile, the officers of District Administration also held outreach programmes at Devsar and D.H Pora and listened to the issues and grievances of people assuring time bound redressal.
