Block Diwas program held in Rajouri Town amid massive Public Participation
DC listens to people’s issues, resolves many problems on spot
RAJOURI, May 03: Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal on Wednesday conducted a public grievances redressal camp at Jawahar Nagar area of block Rajouri under Weekly Block Diwas program.
During the camp, the locals raised several concerns, including scarcity of water, inadequate parking space, dilapidated condition of road from CEO Office to Bustand, and demanded completion of work on circular road and renovation of GMS Jawahar Nagar etc.
Some other issues included installation of a fountain at Children Park at Jawahar Nagar, installation of Power transformers, sanctioning of a Women Degree College, sanctioning of additional Anganwadi Centres, community hall for Jawahar Nagar etc.
President MC Rajouri, Mohammad Arief Jatt urged all stakeholders to work in close coordination to ensure that the district continues to progress. He emphasized that development cannot be achieved in isolation and requires the collective efforts of all stakeholders, including the government, civil society and the general public. He encouraged everyone to come forward with their ideas and suggestions to further improve the district’s progress.
The DC gave a patient hearing to the grievances put forth by the public and their representatives. He assured them that their issues would be taken up with the concerned departments on a priority basis. He also directed the officials present at the camp to take immediate action on the problems projected by the people.
Responding to the issue of shortage of water supply in the Rajouri town, the DC directed the Jal Shakti Department to take effective measures in this regard. He also directed to maintain proper schedule while supplying water to the public so that they don’t face any inconvenience.
In response to the issue of insufficient parking space in the town, the DC assured that appropriate measures would be taken to address the problem. On the demand of the installation of a fountain in the Children Park at Jawahar Nagar, the DC asked the CEO RDA to take necessary measures in this regard.
The people of Jawahar Nagar appreciated the efforts put in by the District Administration for organizing the public outreach camp and providing them with a platform to voice their concerns.
CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; PO ICDS, Shoket Mehmood Malik; CEO RDA, Vivek Puri; SE PWD(R&B), Kamal Kishore Gupta; SE Jal Shakti, Bharam Jyoti Sharma; CEO Education, Sultana Kouser; LDM, Sanjeev Bhasin and other district and sectoral officers were present during the event.
Besides, Vice President MC Rajouri, Bharat Bushan Vaid, councillors including Rajinder Gupta, Sanjay Sharma, Mamta Dutt; Kuldeep Kumar; Yogesh Sharma and Sudarshana Sharma also attended the program.
