Blood Donation Camp at GDC Handwara
KUPWARA, JUNE 15: In observance of World Blood Donation Day, the Indian Red Cross Society, Kupwara, under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, organized a significant blood donation camp at Government Degree College (GDC) Handwara.
This event was a collaborative effort involving the Indian Army, Police, Civil Administration, GMC administration, and local social workers.
The camp witnessed the participation of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Aziz Ah Rather and others Officers, along with the active involvement of hundreds of social workers, Civil Administration workers, Police personnel, and Army jawans from the 21 Rashtriya Rifles, signifying the community’s commitment to this noble cause.
Members of the Handwara Media Association (HMA) also contributed to the success of the event by donating blood and encouraging the youth to participate in such life-saving initiatives. Their appeal underscored the importance of youth involvement in blood donation drives.
A momentous highlight of the event was the participation of Syed Imtiyaz, a renowned blood donor from the Red Cross Kupwara unit. He made history by donating his 70th pint of blood, setting an inspiring example for the entire community of North Kashmir.
The overwhelming response from the community, including the Army, Police, and Civil Administration, underscores the spirit of solidarity and humanitarianism that World Blood Donation Day seeks to promote.
This event was aimed at collecting blood to save lives, and also spreading awareness about the critical need for regular blood donations.
