Bodies of three men recovered in Noida
Noida, Jun 28 (PTI) Bodies of three people two of them suspected alcoholics have been recovered in separate incidents in Noida and Greater Noida of Gautam Buddh Nagar, police said on Wednesday.
In Noida, the body of a 35-year-old sanitation worker was found along a road near a banquet hall in Sector 74, under the Sector 113 police station limits. Police were informed about the body around 10 am, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Ajit alias Bhura, a resident of Sarfabad village here, a police spokesperson said.
“A forensic team was called on the spot and investigation was done. On enquiry from the relatives, it was found that he was addicted to excessive drinking,” the official said.
In Greater Noida, Sher Mohammad alias Sheru (40), a resident of Birampur village in Rabupura police station area, jumped into a pond allegedly after drinking alcohol and died, police said.
His body was fished out by divers and initial probe revealed that Sheru’s wife had separated from him eight years ago allegedly due to his alcoholism, they said.
On Tuesday, the body of 20-year-old Rambir, a native of Mahoba district, was found hanging from a tree in Sector Omicron 3 under the Surajpur police station limits, in a suspected case of suicide, the official said.
Police said they are probing the matter.
The bodies in all three cases were sent for postmortem and further legal proceedings were underway, the spokesperson added.
