Border people, farmers, refugees will receive priority in Cong Manifesto – Ravinder Sharma

Border people, ex – armymen oppose Agniveer Scheme, demand regular recuitments 

RS Pura, July 27- The problems of border residents, farmers ,refugees would recive more attention in the Congress manifesto in J&K said Co-chairman & Senior Vice President & Chief Spokesperson JKPCC Mr Ravinder Sharma. 

Interacting with border residents ,refugees & farmers of border area of R S Pura, Suchetagarh and Bishnah here today, Mr Sharma assured them to keep their problems and demands on top priority because they are worst suffering sections. 

Former MP T S Bajwa, General Secretaries Shashi Sharma, Pawan Raina, Satish Sharma, Suresh Dogra, T S Tony, Karan Bhagat, Bhushan Dogra, Daleep Kumar, Iqbal Dar Badri Nath Sharma, Ajaib Motton, Rajiv GandhibPanchyat Raj  leader Sandip SinghRissam , Anil kumar and others were present. 

Several prominent persons and representatives of farmers, Border residents, refugees, OBC, SCs, minorities,rep of para military , Ex- servicemen spoke and put forth their demands. 

 Expressing gratitude to the people for their overwhelming response to the initiative of Congress party to reach out to the people at grass roots level before drafting the manifesto , Mr Ravinder Sharma asked the people to send their demands and suggestions for considerations of the party. 

The farmers complained about poor management of the irrigation canals and lack of water at tail ends, poor supply of power, drinking water, inflated bills, huge taxes, lack of due attention to border roads, schools and health facilities. 

The ex- servicemen and entire population vehimentally opposed Agniveer Scheme & demanded special recruitments in border areas and weapons for checking infiltration besides better facilities of life. 

They complained about lack of basic facilities to the border residents who are unarmed soldiers of nation and have to migrate time and again. They are served inflated power bills and arearers of migration period too, The bunkers are in very bad condition and filled with rainy water with all sorts of insects and snakes  taking shelters there.
