BSF recovers China-made drone in Punjab’s Tarn Taran
Tarn Taran (Punjab) [India], May 31 (ANI): In a joint operation, Border Security Force (BSF) troops and Punjab police recovered a drone from the outskirts of a village in Tarn Taran district on Friday.
“On May 31, based on information about the presence of a drone in the border area of district Tarn Taran, BSF troops, in collaboration with Punjab police, conducted a joint search operation in the suspected area,” the BSF said in a release.
The BSF further stated that the troops recovered one drone from the outskirts of village Naushera Dhalla in Tarn Taran District.
“During the search, at about 11:20 am, the troops recovered one drone from the outskirts of village Naushera Dhalla in Tarn Taran district. The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic,” the BSF added.
The coordinated efforts of BSF troops and Punjab police successfully foiled yet another illicit attempt at drone intrusion in Punjab from across the border.
Earlier, the BSF seized two drones and a substantial quantity of narcotics in two separate incidents near the India-Pakistan International Border in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district.
In a coordinated operation, BSF personnel recovered a total of 1,060 grams of suspected methamphetamine from the drones.
The first drone was confiscated at around 8:10 pm on Friday from a farming area in CB Chand village. The second drone was intercepted on the outskirts of Kalsian village around 10:35 pm the same evening.
The seizure highlights the ongoing efforts by the BSF to curb the smuggling of narcotics and maintain security along the border.
“In the evening hours of May 30, vigilant BSF troops, on receiving information about the presence of drones alongwith narcotics at two different places on the border area of district Tarn Taran, promptly conducted search operations in the suspected areas,” said the BSF in a statement.
