Budgam police concludes five-day crash course on new criminal laws
The Budgam Police Department successfully concluded a five-day crash course on “The New Criminal Laws” on February 24th, 2024.
The program, held at the District Police Lines (DPL) Recreation Hall, aimed to equip officers and officials with a comprehensive understanding of recent changes in the legal landscape.

The inaugural address was delivered by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Budgam, Shri Ragav S-IPS. He provided an insightful overview of the new laws, highlighting key changes compared to the previous legal framework.
The course curriculum also included lectures by the Senior Prosecuting Officer (SPO) Budgam, Station House Officer (SHO) PS Budgam, and Inspector In-charge (IC) PP Soibugh.
The training sessions delved into various aspects of the new laws, with a focus on understanding the underlying principles and their practical application. Topics covered included reforms in definitions, attempt, abetment, and conspiracy. Emphasis was placed on fostering interactive discussions, allowing participants to clarify doubts and gain practical knowledge.
This initiative underscores the Budgam Police’s commitment to providing its personnel with the necessary training and resources to effectively enforce the law and serve the community.
