Budget 2024 an effort towards journey of Viksit Bharat: Suvendu Adhikari

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], July 23 (ANI): West Bengal Leader of Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari lauded Union Budget 2024 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday, saying that it will propel the country in its journey towards Viksit Bharat.

“The Union Budget 2024-25 is an effort towards the journey of Viksit Bharat, fortifying the sectors which will help achieve the target,” Adhikari said in a post on ‘X’.

Listing out the priorities mentioned in the Union Budget, the LoP said, “Hon’ble FM Smt @nsitharaman Ji’s focus on the following 9 priorities will be generating ample opportunities for all: 1) Productivity and resilience in agriculture 2) Employment and skilling 3) Inclusive human resource development and social justice 4) Manufacturing and services 5) Urban development 6) Energy security 7) Infrastructure 8) Innovation, research and development 9) Next-generation reforms.”

The senior BJP leader also claimed that the budget will boost the power of the youth, women and farmers and will lead the country to be a “developed nation.”

“This Budget will harness & propel the power of Bharat’s youth, Nari Shakti and Farmers, while accelerating the nation’s pace of becoming a developed nation and usher in a new era of employment,” Adhikari said.

Thanking the Prime Minister and the Union Finance Minister, the senior BJP leader said, “I sincerely thank Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodiJi and Hon’ble FM Smt @nsitharamanJi for this pro-development budget.”

Meanwhile, BJP MP Sukanta Majumdar lauded the Budget for emphasizing “job creation” and announcing plans for the eastern part of the country.

“This budget has paid maximum emphasis on job creation. The government has announced plans for and funded the Eastern part of the country…,” Majumdar said.

Speaking on the wide coverage of the budgetary allocations, the BJP leader said, “From critical minerals to space research, whatever will be of importance in the coming days has been allocated funds… MUDRA loan has been increased and interest on education loans has been decreased. This is a holistic budget…”

The Finance Minister presented the first Union Budget of the Modi 3.0 government and her seventh consecutive one on Tuesday. The budget session of Parliament began on July 22 and, according to schedule, will end on August 12.
