Bureau of Indian Standard Club, Central University of Jammu Organize Lecture cum Standard Writing Competition

Jammu, 4 Nov2023: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Club of the Central University of Jammu organized an event in the Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, Central University of Jammu regarding the BIS activities and Standard Writing Competition under the mentorship of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain, CUJ.

The event was organized by Dr. Sujata Kundan, Coordinator of BIS Club, CUJ who regularly works for the awareness of the youth and providing them such useful information under the guidance and support of our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain.

The event was begun with the welcome address by Dr. Sujata Kundan for all the delegates including the Resource Person

Sh. Niraj Kumar Mishra (Assistant Director, BIS Jammu and Kashmir Branch Office). After the welcome address, the event became more delighted with the immense presence and words of Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar and Prof. Ritu Bakshi, Dean Student Welfare CUJ.

Afterwards, Sh. Niraj Kumar Mishra, took over the dice and explained in an elaborative manner about the BIS standards, their consumer rights and also, told us about what is right to be purchased and how Standards are set among the students of BIS Club.

The event was followed by the interesting question answers session between the resource person and the students of BIS Club. This session made the youth understand more about the regular items which we use and standards by which it is prepared. The event features providing knowledge to the youth about BIS activities, standardization, and mark certification etc. Later on, an innovative standard writing competition was organized in order to let students have an idea about how standards are set and how the BIS organization works. The event was a great success as the students learned throughout the discussion and had a fun-loving interaction with Sh. Niraj Kumar Mishra. The event was concluded with the formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sujata Kundan, Assistant Professor, BIS Coordinator, Central University of Jammu.
