Capex Budget implementation reviewed in Poonch
DC calls for timeline completion of projects, judicious fund utilization
POONCH, MARCH 20: District Development Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal reviewed the physical and financial progress of ongoing projects taken up under the District Capex Budget 2024-25 here at a meeting held in the conference hall of DC Office complex.
The meeting brought together officials of implementing departments for a comprehensive assessment of various initiatives.
The Chief Planning Officer and executive engineers gave detailed presentations, providing detailed insights into sector-wise status of projects under the BDC, DDC, and PRI area development grants. The activities under Rural Development, Jal Shakti, Education, JPDCL, Municipality, Health sectors were highlighted, with specific focus on expenditure and progress of constructed versus unconstructed projects.
Block Development Officers (BDOs) participated virtually, offering extensive updates on their respective block-wise works, emphasizing the necessity for timely execution of pending projects. They were directed to put in extra efforts to fast track completion of projects.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the urgency of maximizing fund utilization across various schemes, calling on all departments and executing agencies to intensify efforts in meeting targets for the financial year. The meeting underscored the critical importance of collaboration and accountability in ensuring the district’s development objectives are achieved without delay.
The meeting was attended by the Superintending Engineer (SE) of the PWD(R&B), Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Education Officer, the Executive Engineer (Xen) of the PWD, as well REW, FC & Irrigation departments, Block Development Officer Poonch, Accounts Officer from the Municipality, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, doctor from the Health Department, and other concerned officers.
