Censure Congressmen for continued play of dirty politics on Jammu Kashmir: GLR

Jammu 23 August Former MLC and BJP spokesperson GL Raina condemned Congressmen, both present & Past for playing dirty politics over sensitive national issues including Jammu Kashmir.

Patronising separatist forces, encouraging divisive elements and provoking people on baseless apprehensions is old habit of Congress party which it continues to use even in changed circumstances, he added. Party and its members leave no opportunity to hurt national interest whenever and wherever it gets a chance, said Raina.

Same was on display in Supreme Court of India where a-5-Judge Constitutional Bench is hearing petitioners with regards to inoperationalisation of Article 370 and abrogation of Article 35 A, he alleged.

Stressing that Member Parliament of Congress Party Adv. Manish Tewari appeared on behalf of an intervener from Arunachal Pardesh in SC Claiming that interpretation of the Constitution Bench of Article 370 will have an impact on special provision under Article 371 the six sub parts which apply to North East under part XXI of the constitution and the VI schedule applies to Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya and Mizoram. This was a clearly intended step, former MLC stressed to provoke people of these states. Remember Kapil Sibal a former Congress man even tried to plead plebiscite when he referred to Brexit during his submission on Article 370 in the Supreme Court. Kapil Sibal even tried to interrupt attorney general when he was arguing for the August 5, 2019 decision.

GL Raina said that This old habit of adding fuel to the fire and underplaying national interest was however successfully curtailed by CJI. The Constitution bench was rightly harsh and snubbed Tewari by not only dismissing his plea but also telling him that he has nothing to say on Article 370 and why should bench hear him.

The 5- Judge bench asked Congress MP to avoid making anticipations. Justice Sanjay Kishan Koul added that there is no similarity between Article 370 and 371 and there is no reason to mention Article 371 in the arguments in the hearing on Abrogation of Article 370, appreciated Raina.

Intervention application was rightly dismissed, he opined. But these direct and indirect attempts by Congress party and its members need to be condemned by every right thinking person, he added.

Party spokesperson cautioned people to see through this divisive agenda of Congress and teach the party a lesson by defeating them electorally and also counter its divisive narrative.
