Central University of Jammu Installed Selfie Points in Campus under Swachhata Hi Seva

Jammu, 24 Sept 2024: In a significant step towards promoting cleanliness and community involvement, a new Selfie Point was inaugurated at the Central University of Jammu (CU-Jammu) campus under the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign. The theme for this year’s campaign is “Swabhav Swachhata Sanskaar Swachhata” emphasizing the role of personal responsibility and cultural values in fostering a cleaner environment.

 Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu extended his congratulations on the successful installation. He lauded the efforts of the organizers and emphasized the importance of student participation in national missions like Swachhata Hi Seva, which align with the university’s broader mission of creating socially responsible citizens.

The installation of the Selfie Point was coordinated by Lt Dr. Pankaj Mehta. This initiative aimed to encourage students and faculty members to engage with the campaign by sharing their experiences and promoting cleanliness on social media, further amplifying the message of Swachh Bharat.The Nodal Officer of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, Prof. Richa Kothari, highlighted the significance of the campaign’s theme and its relevance in instilling values of cleanliness and sustainability in students and staff. She mentioned that the Selfie Point is not just a spot for photographs but a reminder of the continuous effort needed to maintain cleanliness in all aspects of life.This initiative is part of a series of activities organized by CU-Jammu to promote cleanliness, environmental consciousness, and civic responsibility among students, staff, and the larger community.
