Central University of Jammu ISRO Centre Celebrates First National Space Day 2024 

JAMMU August 25:   First National Space Day 2024 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and innovation at the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), under the esteemed patronage of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, at the ISRO Centre of Central University of Jammu.

 Prof. Rakesh Jha, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication, presided over the event, while Dr. Priyank Sharma, Assistant Professor coordinated the event. The day began with a formal opening ceremony where Dr. Sunil Yadav, Associate Professor in the Department of ECE, highlighted the significance of space science and technology in modern society. His address set the tone for a day filled with insightful discussions and interactive sessions.

 A key highlight of the event was an expert talk by Scientist Alok Kumar Singhal on “Satellite Communication and Its Applications,” which delved into the critical role of satellite technology in various aspects of communication.

Dr. Sanjeev Yadav, Assistant Professor, ECE delivered an expert talk on “5G Communication and the Effect of Radiation on Human Beings,” providing valuable insights into the advancements and implications of 5G technology. The celebrations included a Poster Competition for students, encouraging them to creatively express their understanding of space-related themes. A quiz competition was also conducted, testing the participants’ knowledge of space science, astronomy, and space missions. The competitive spirit and enthusiasm among the participants were palpable, with winners receiving certificates and space-themed prizes as tokens of recognition.

The first three prize winning team were Sourav Kumar (Team no. 15) ,  Baibhav Kumar and Bal Krishan Mandal (Team No. 10),  M. Jarhad Farooq and Keyur Bhargav (Team No. 05)  and Nandani and Megha Jha (Team No. 02)

The event witnessed the participation of 15 teams, each showcasing remarkable knowledge and creativity. The day concluded with a formal vote of thanks from Dr. Priyank Sharma, who expressed his gratitude to the distinguished guest speakers, participants, and volunteers. He acknowledged their efforts in making National Space Day 2024 a resounding success and thanked those who contributed prizes for the event.
