Central University of Jammu Organizes Expert Talk

Special emphasis for skills required for the Placement of B.Tech. ECE or ECE (Avionics) Students in the Current Era

Jammu, 24 Sept 2024:  Mr. Omvir Singh Bhadoria, Training and Placement Officer at IIIT Jabalpur, delivered an insightful talk on the skills required for successful placements in the current job market, specifically for students pursuing B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and ECE (Avionics) in online mode. Mr. Bhadoria emphasized the importance of strong technical proficiency, particularly in core electronics subjects like analog and digital electronics, signal processing, and communication systems. Additionally, he highlighted the significance of programming skills in languages such as C, C++, Python, and MATLAB. Proficiency in advanced technologies like IoT, embedded systems, VLSI design, and FPGA development were underscored as critical for career growth in sectors like avionics and electronics. Beyond technical abilities, Mr. Bhadoria stressed the importance of soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

These skills play a vital role in ensuring students perform well in interviews and excel in professional environments. He encouraged students to continually upgrade their knowledge, remain adaptable, and gain industry exposure through internships and certifications. Platforms like Coursera and Udemy were recommended for acquiring relevant certifications. The session also covered preparation strategies for placements, including improving aptitude, participating in mock interviews, and building a strong resume. Mr. Badhoria concluded by discussing current industry trends and expectations, advising students to focus on both academic knowledge and practical applications. Overall, the talk provided students with actionable insights to enhance their employability in the competitive job market, equipping them with both the technical and soft skills necessary for a successful career.
