Central University of Jammu Organizes Vigilance Awareness Week
Jammu, 08 August 2024: Central University of Jammu organized an impactful program today as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW)-2024, which started from August 5th to August 10th, 2024. The event was held at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium with the theme, “Day of Resolution for Freedom from Corruption.”
Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, CUJ in his elaborative and informative address, talked about different forms of corruption and explained in detail the consequences for public servants who indulge in corruption. He urged the students to support and maintain transparency and cooperate with anti-corruption agencies, since corruption cannot be stopped without the support of the general public. Prof. Jain said that students must educate themselves about various laws which deal with corrupt practices.
Sh. Vikas Gupta, DIG, IPS, Anti-Corruption Bureau, was the key resource person on the occasion. He talked on the menace of corruption and emphasized that eradication of the corruption is not only the duty of the Government, Need of the time is to raise a concerted effort against the corruption on all fronts. Sh. Kulwant Singh Jasrotia, SSP, AIG (DVO), Anti-Corruption Bureau, Jammu on the occasion said that the nation as a whole should join the crusade against corruption.
Sh. Irshad Ahmad Sheikh and Sh. Sunny Gupta, DSP, both distinguished guests provided valuable perspectives on the importance of vigilance and integrity in the fight against corruption. He also administered Integrity Pledge” was also taken by university staff and students
Prof. Yashwant Singh Registrar, CUJ highlighted the role of educational institutions in fostering a culture of transparency and ethical behavior and emphasis on corruption free society.
Earlier Prof. Prof. Rakesh Jha, Head, Department of Electronics and communication organizer of the event welcomed all the esteemed guests and emphasized that we should join to get rid of corruption and appeasement. He said that these evils are hindering the progress of the country. Prof. Jha also emphasized the leverage of technology in the fight against corruption.
The awareness program witnessed active participation from a large number of Students, Faculty and staff of the university. The event was coordinated by Dr. Sunil Dutt Sharma and Dr. Sanjeev Yadav. Dr. Harneet Kour, presented the formal vote of thanks.
