Chairman/CEC Tashi Gyalson attends closing ceremony of Winter Bridging Prog

LEH, February 21: Chairman/CEC, Adv. Tashi Gyalson attended the closing ceremony of the 40-day Winter Bridging Programme cum convocation organised by the Student’s Association for Village Education, Changthang. His Eminence Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche was the chief guest and MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal along with CEC Gyalson were the guest of honour. His Eminence Check Rinpoche was the special guest.

Among those present on the occasion were Councillor Nyoma, Councillor Korzok, Councillor Thiksey, Councillor Kungyam, Chief Education Officer Leh, Chakzods of Hemis, Korzok, and Chemday monasteries, Venerable monks and nuns of various monasteries, representatives from Eicher Group Foundation (Royal Enfield), various other guests, and students.

CEC Gyalson appreciated the initiative of SAVE for organising such a fruitful winter bridging programme for the students of the Changthang region. He added that youths need to enhance their skills along with academics.

CEC Gyalson lauded the contribution of border residents of the Changthang region in guarding the nation’s integrity and stated that the present government is leaving no stone unturned in strengthening the border regions through various initiatives including the Changthang Development Package, and the recently announced Vibrant Villages Programme for border regions. He acknowledged the contribution of MP Ladakh for his timely intervention in getting all the people-friendly schemes sanctioned for Ladakh to date.

He further advised youths and especially school-going students to build analytical skills thus, contribute equally and efficiently to the collective development of society. He also assured continuous assistance from the Hill Council, Leh towards such initiatives in the future as well.
