Chairman DLSA Kulgam takes suo-moto note of news regarding landsliding at Shalmachi Yarikhah
Asks authorities to provide Legal Aid facilities to the Victims
KULGAM, February 27: Taking suo-moto note of the news on social media regarding damage to two residential houses and three shops due to landsliding at village Shalmachi Yarikhah in Noorabad, the Chairman District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kulgam, (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Mohammad Ashraf Bhat directed authorities to ensure availability of medical care, food, safe drinking water and alternate shelter to the victims.
Pursuant to Scheme for legal services to Victims through Legal Services Authority, Secretary DLSA Kulgam has been directed by the Chairman to supervise the distribution of relief material and ensure that the victims (families residing in the said houses who have become destitute/homeless) are provided with adequate support.
The Chairman also directed Secretary DLSA Kulgam to depute the Paral Legal Volunteers to the affected area forthwith for coordinating the activities of the relief operations if any provided to the victims by any authority till the rehabilitation of victims and to apprise him with regard to alternative arrangement of shelter, clothes, Food, and Medicines for victims and shall also submit the details of the steps taken by the District Administration/Disaster Management Authority.
Senior Superintendent of Police District Kulgam was asked to monitor the affected area and provide the assistance to the victims of land sliding disaster, required by them from the department.
