Chairperson DDC kick starts work on JJM Schemes in Banihal

RAMBAN, AUGUST 05: Chairperson, District Development Council, Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan today conducted an extensive tour of Banihal area besides taking part in Jal Jeeven Mission fortnight programmes. 

The Chairperson also kick started work on Thachi Amkoot,  Water Supply Scheme under JJM  projects worth over Rs 9 crore  here in Sub- division Banihal.

Vice Chairperson DDC Rabia Hamid, DDC member Fayaz, DDC member Imtiyaz Khanday, officers from PHE department, PRIs, locals were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson said that the WSS scheme shall cover 2 panchayats including Chamalwas lower B and Thachi Panchyat and give benefit to a huge population area.

While interacting with the locals, the DDC Chairperson said that Jal Jeevan Mission is envisioned to provide functional tapped water connections to all the households and steps are being taken by the department to achieve the 100% targets under FHTC in the district. 

The Chairperson also said that the Jal Shakti Department is tirelessly working to ensure proper drinking water facilities to the general public and measures are being taken in this regard.

The Chairperson also asked the concerned officers from the Jal Shakti Department to ensure that the quality work on these schemes is completed within the set deadlines so that necessary benefits could be provided to the general public with the completion of the projects.
