Chandrababu Naidu chairs meeting with TDP MPs in Vijayawada
Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], June 7 (ANI): TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu chaired a meeting with his party MPs at his residence in Vijayawada.
After the meeting on Thursday, the newly elected TDP MP from Bapatla, Krishna Prasad Tenneti, expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to serve.
Talking about the meeting Tenneti said, “He did a coordination meeting with all the MPs and also traced out the history of how TDP has been committed to the welfare and development of the people and what kind of role we had been playing in national politics, particularly he played a very important role in the national politics with NDA.”
“Many of us got elected for the first time. Like me, I got elected for the first time,” Tenneti added.
Chandrababu Naidu reached Delhi on Thursday to meet with top BJP leaders. He will be in the national capital to attend a meeting of NDA partners, scheduled to take place at the central hall of the Parliament on Friday.
All TDP MPs arrived in Delhi on Thursday night to participate in this meeting.
As per the sources, discussions will be held on government formation by the grand alliance. This comes after the NDA crossed the majority mark bagging 293 seats in the Lok Sabha polls. However, the BJP managed to secure only 240 seats, much lower than its 2019 tally.
As per the Election Commission data, NDA registered a massive victory winning 164 out of the 175 seats in the Andhra Pradesh assembly with TDP winning 135 seats, Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena Party (JSP) 21, and the BJP winning 8 seats.
Both Naidu and Janata Dal (U) chief Nitish Kumar will have a greater say in the NDA as the BJP falls 32 seats short of a full majority on its own, unlike in the last two NDA governments at the Centre.
Though the JD (U) and the TDP stated that they would stay in the NDA, the INDIA bloc did not stop wooing them.
At the INDIA bloc meeting, the leaders said that doors should be kept open for the TDP and the JD (U).
In a show of unity and support, 21 NDA leaders signed a resolution at a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence on Wednesday, unanimously electing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as their leader.
The resolution praised PM Modi’s efforts in nation-building, the welfare of the poor, and development, reaffirming their commitment to these objectives.
Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to be sworn in as the Chief Minister on June 12th, with a state cabinet-sharing meeting likely to take place on June 10th.
