Chief Agriculture Officer ,Kathua visits Indo-Pak International Border to inspect the Wheat crop Harvest.
KATHUA, April 27: Sh. Sanjeev Rai Gupta, Chief Agriculture Officer, Kathua performed extensive tour of various villages adjoining International Indo Pak Border post of Karol Krishna to inspect the status of wheat crop today on 26-04-2023
During the tour, Team comprising Sh. Sanjiv Mehta, Subject Matter Specialist Sub Division Hiranagar , Sh. Jamshed Andotra , Agriculture Extension Officer, Marheen , Sh. Sanjay Kumar Agriculture Extension Assistant and other Officials accompanied Chief Agriculture Officer, Kathua during visit to border villages along Zero Line of Indo Pak International Border.

Sh. Sanjeev Rai Gupta , Chief Agriculture Officer, Kathua had productive meeting with Sh. Rajinder Singh ,Coy. Commandant, B.S.F., Karol Krishna and farmers regarding the harvest. It was focused upon opening of the Fence gates early in the morning, ensuring maximum day light use and timely harvest of wheat crop.
Sh. Sanjeev Rai Gupta, Chief Agriculture Officer Kathua instructed the farmers to use modern machines for faster harvest of wheat crop. Thereafter, he advised to sell their produce at Minimum Support Price issued by the Govt. of India which Rs.2125 per quintal for season Rabi 2022-23. He also said, during recent season of harvest, farmers are expecting a rich harvest of 3900 Qntls. of Wheat from the said area under cultivation along the Zero line.

It is pertinent to mention that total of 251 acres of land was brought under wheat cultivation during year Rabi 2022-23 along international border with participation of 66 local farmers from various villages of the border in comparison to 141 acres of area sown during Rabi 2021-22 with participation of 36 farmers from border villages.
