Cleanliness Drive held at Trans Himalayan Herbal Garden of National Institute of Sowa Rigpa Leh
Leh, October 3, 2024: Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Govt of India, Vaidya Shri Rajesh Kotecha concluded the Swachhta Hi Seva 2024 fortnight program with a cleanliness drive at Trans Himalayan Herbal Garden of National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa Leh on 2nd Oct 2024.
Deputy Director General, Ministry of Ayush, Shri Satyajit Paul and several senior officers from Ministry of Ayush, Director NISR – Dr Padma Gurmet, Staff and Students of National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa participated in the cleanliness drive and concluding program. This year the theme of the two-week program was `Swabhav Swachhta- Sanskar Swachhta’. The campaign was launched on 17 September 2024 and concluded today at Trans Himalayan Herbal Garden of National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh.
Dr Padma Gurmet, Director National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh welcomed the Secretary, Ministry of Ayush and senior Officers from Ministry of Ayush and presented a brief introduction about the Trans Himalayan Herbal Garden of National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh. Vaidya Shri Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary Ministry of Ayush appreciated the efforts of National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa for preservation of Trans-Himalayan Herbal resources. He also spoke about the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign and its importance during the occasion.
All participants planted a tree in the name of their mother under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
During the Swachhta Hi Seva 2024 campaign, various activities like “Swachhata Bhageedari” through Shramdaaan (Cleanliness drives with participation of all), Awareness session, Writing/Essay/Paintings/Poster competition among Students, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (Mass tree Plantation), Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivirs -Awareness program on ‘Personal Hygiene’ & ‘Good health practices’ and “Preventive health care treatment” to Safai Mitras (Sanitation workers) and other programs was also conducted by the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh.
