Cleanliness drive organized by GDCW, Kathua in the Dreamland Park, Kathua
KATHUA, 22 Sept.: In a significant contribution to the ongoing activities of Gandhi Jayanti, a noteworthy cleanliness drive was organized in Dreamland Park, Kathua, under the Swachhta Abhiyan (Cleanliness Campaign) by the National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC) Units of Government Degree College for Women (GDCW), Kathua, on September 22, 2023. This event, which was dedicated to commemorating the principles and values of Mahatma Gandhi, was conducted under the able leadership of Dr. Savi Behl, Principal of Government Degree College for Women, Kathua. The primary objective of this initiative was to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and the spirit of community service, aligning seamlessly with the ideals and philosophies cherished by the Father of the Nation. The tasks carried out during the cleanliness drive included the diligent picking up of litter and the thorough sweeping of pathways within the park.
Smt. Veena Sharma, representing the Flowery Culture Department and serving as Incharge of Dreamland Park, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the dedicated volunteers and Cadets who participated wholeheartedly in this event. She emphasized the profound connection between Gandhi’s teachings and the vital importance of maintaining public spaces. She further encouraged the community to perpetuate the practice of cleanliness and hygiene as a fitting tribute to the enduring legacy of Mahatma Gandhi.
The entire event was organized and supervised by Dr. Arun Dev Singh, NCC Programme Officer, Prof. Pallavi (Nodal Officer of Shikshit Bharat Club) and Dr. Anupam Manuhaar, ensuring its smooth execution and success.
