CM Revanth Reddy lends helping hand to orphaned girl Durga
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], August 19 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday asked District Collector Abhilash Abhinav to take care of Durga who was orphaned after her mother died by suicide.
According to officials, Druga’s mother, M Gangamani (36) who used to live in the village of Tanur Mandal in Nirmal District died by suicide on Saturday night. Her 11-year-old daughter Durga was left alone.
As per the CM’s order, Durga will be admitted to Gurukul school and provide free education, the Collector said that medical treatment and other facilities will be provided, if necessary, to the girl.
Earlier this week Revanth Reddy extended warm greetings to women on the occasion of the Rakhi festival in Hyderabad.
Reddy wished the people present at the festival, which is a symbol of a strong bond between brother and sister, and hoped for it to be celebrated with great joy.Addressing the occasion, Reddy said that the “people’s government has been implementing several innovative schemes aiming to empower the women community and also promote them as millionaires.”
He further stated that the state government has already implemented free bus travel, cooking gas cylinders at Rs 500, and a free power supply of up to 200 units as part of Six Guarantees.
