Community College, CU Jammu Hosts Alumni Meet-2024
Jammu, November 18: The Community College of Central University of Jammu hosted its much-anticipated Alumni Meet at the Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium, Central University of Jammu. The event was organised under the mentorship of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu.
The Alumni Meet 2024 brought together students of B.Voc (Tourism Management), B.Voc (Retail Management) & B.Voc (BFS) Degree Programmes to reconnect, reminisce, and engage with the College and one another. The auspicious event started with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony symbolizing knowledge and wisdom, followed by a heartfelt welcome address by Dr. Naresh Kumar, Principal, Community College. He expressed his gratitude towards the alumni for their continued support and involvement, acknowledging their significant contributions in shaping the reputation of the college.
Prof. Jaya Bhasin, Dean, School of Business Studies, addressed the gathering, extending her best wishes to the alumni and the College. She emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between alumni and the institution in ensuring its sustained success and evolution. She lauded the efforts of the Community College in organizing the successful event.
Dr. Shahid Mushtaq, Nodal Officer, Community College highlighted the achievements of the College since its inception. He emphasized the significant role of alumni in fostering a strong connection with their alma mater, which not only helps in strengthening the College’s legacy but also contributes to the growth and development of future students.
The Alumni Meet provided a platform for former students to share their experiences, reconnect with old friends, and discuss future opportunities for collaboration and mentorship with the current students of the Community College. The gathering was a memorable occasion that underscored the enduring bond between the college and its alumni, highlighting the importance of community and the shared journey of academic and professional growth.
It is pertinent to mention here that few alumni joined in online mode as well and shared their experiences. Prof. Jaya Bhasin, Dean, SBS, Dr. Neelika Arora, Director, UGC-MMTC and Faculty Members from School of Business Studies and B.Voc Programme Coordinators graced the event with their benign presence.
The entire programme was coordinated faculty members from Community College including Dr. Payal Gandotra, Ms. Preeti Slathia, Mr. Kohit Targotra and Ms. Prinka Dogra under the guidance of Dr. Naresh Kumar and supervision of Dr. Shahid Mushtaq Nodal officer for B.Voc. Programmes. Dr. Payal Gandotra proposed a formal vote of thanks.
