Community mobilisation programme organised by Zonal Education Office Marh

JAMMU, April 06: A community mobilisation programme for School Management Committees (SMCs), School Management and Development Committees (SMDCs), Village Education Committees (VECs) and PRI members was organised today by the Zonal Education Office Marh under the aegis of SAMAGRA Shiksha. The event took place at Government Higher Secondary School Ghou Manhasan in Zone Marh.

Community members were informed about the roles and responsibilities of SMCs, SMDCs, VECs and PRI members in improving the enrollment and development of government schools. They were encouraged to come forward and revive the education system for the future of children in their locality. The community members were also made aware of government schemes such as the Mid-Day Meal programme, free textbooks, free uniforms for classes 1st to 8th, scholarship schemes for students and National Means cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS).

Community members were urged to promote enrollment by encouraging the general public to send their children to government schools to receive quality education from highly qualified teachers and to avail a range of facilities. Speakers from different school committees gave valuable suggestions for the welfare of students and the upliftment of the education system.

Principal, HSS Ghou Manhasan along with SMDC members, distributed prizes among the top-performing students in various fields during the year 2022-23. 

Others who spoke on the occasion included Chairman Municipal Committee Ghou Manhasan, Jatinder Singh Choudhary; Principal HSS Ghou Manhasan, Dr. Kalpana Jasrotia; headmasters, committee members and staff members of government schools.
