Congress hits streets in Jammu over Statehood
Karra, Mir lead Congress protest March for Statehood
Jammu, March 24, 2025:- JKPCC Chief Shri Tariq Hameed Karra accompanied by AICC General Secretary and CLP leader G A Mir besides Working Presidents Tara Chand,Raman Bhalla, DCC President Manmohan Singh Balwan Singh, ,Yogesh Sawhney, Th Hari Singh Chib, Kanta Bhan, Ved Mahajan,Th Balbir Singh, Rajnish Sharma ,Shabir Ahmed Khan , Satish Sharma, Amrit BalibSanjeev Panda and several other leaders led hundreds of Congress leaders and activists to take out a protest March from Talab Tilloo area of Jammu in support of party campaign to seek restoration of statehood at the earliest.

As part of of the party’s ongoing campaign “Hamari Riyasat,Hamara Haq” DCC Jammu urban through Congress team of Talab Tilloo , organised a March through main Bazar in which hundreds of Congress and Mahila Congress,youth Congress,seva Dal,OBC and other frontal wings participated, carrying banners ,raising strong slogans for restoration of statehood.
Leaders and workers distributed pamphlets carrying demand for statehood besides various issues faced by people including tobcontrol terrorism, check drug mafia, mine and liquor mafia,jobs for youth by filling all posts, removalof toll, water,property tax,against smart meters, resoration of old age pension and it’s enhancement besides regularisation of daily wagers need based and different categories of temporary employees.
Displaying play cards,flags the Congress workers marched through parts of bazar disrupting normal traffic.At several places enroute the people welcomed PCC Chief Mr Karra, Mr Mir and other Congress leaders by garlanding them at several places as mark of their support to the movement.
Addressing the gathering and the protestors ,JKPCC Chief reiterated the demand for early restoration of statehood as promised,time and again by the centre government including Prime Minister and Home minister but after elections BJP has betrayed people.
He said BJP wants to rule by proxy and enjoy power at the cost of the people’s mandate to an elected government.He termed it as an insult to people of Jammu and Kashmir and appealed people to support the movementfor statehood which is people’s movement.
He said that movement shall be carried further till goal is achieved and said that next few days will witness such protest march in different parts of Jammu city.
