Congress holds preparatory meeting for observing Maun Satyagraga on July 12

Will continue campaign against BJP’s anti-people policies in J&K: Bhalla

Jammu, July 10 :- A preparatory meeting of DCC Rural and Urban was held at the party office in view of observing “Maun Satyagraha (Silent Protest)” on July 12, in solidarity with Former Congress President Shri Rahul Gandhi organized by former Minister Yogesh Sawhney.The meeting was chaired by Working President PCC Raman Bhalla in presence of Senior Congress leaders including Shri Yogesh Sawhney, Th. Manmohan Singh, Kanta Baan. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Refugee Cell Congress Chairman Amrit Bali, Congress Sewa Dal Chief Vijay Sharma, Satish Sharma, NSUI President Ajay Lakhotra,  OBC Chairman Adv. While addressing the meeting, Working President PCC Raman Bhalla said that The entire world has seen how Shri Rahul Gandhi has consistently been questioning and exposing the relationship between Modi and Adani, on various platforms. His courageous pursuit has forced the Prime Minister and BJP to resort to crooked measures leading to his conviction and disqualification from the membership of Lok Sabha. In spite of all these hardships, Shri Rahul Gandhi has been consistent in his unstoppable fight against the misuse of power by Modi, and in fighting for the truth and raising the issues concerning the people of the country. He fearlessly fighting for the voice of my countrymen. Not just the Congress Party, but the entire nation has condemned this erroneous conviction and disqualification, and resolved to stand by Rahul ji in this noble fight.

Bhalla said that in the present circumstances, it is high time that we stand together and reiterate that Shri Rahul Gandhi is not alone and that millions of congressmen and crores of people irrespective of their political affiliations are with him in this fight for truth and justice. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, in solidarity with our leader and in support of his fearless and uncompromising fight Congress party has decided to organise a massive one-day Maun Satyagraha (Silent Protest) in front of Gandhi statues, in all State Headquarters from 10 AM to 5 PM, on Wednesday, on 12th July 2023.

 Raman Bhalla further said that Congress must prepare well to fight the elections. We must be in ready mode in view of ensuing elections and said that the people are suffering on account of BJP’s misrule, from government employees in J&K to students to the unemployed youth, people in large numbers are stepping out on the streets for their genuine demands and needs; this needs to change, he said. He asked party workers to connect with the people of grass root level and said that it is high time to move the party’s campaign against BJP’s anti-people policies in full swing. We must work for the people and strive to form a people-centric government in J&K as and when the time comes.

Yogesh Sawhney said that primary motive of Maun Satyagraha is to challenge and question the Center through the medium of truth and prove that the Congress party cannot be silenced. He said that Indian democracy is one of the strongest in the world and the Modi Government should think twice before harming it.Pointing out that democracy is in decline, he conveyed that the Congress party will stand for truth and continue to fight for the people. “BJP’s failure to deal with issues like unemployment, price rise and the overall prosperity and security of the country is clearly visible in the current situation of the common people. Their hardships are piling up as BJP continues to favour the rich and neglect the poor,” said Sawhney.

Manmohan Singh said that the Congress party is determined to expose the hypocrisy of the BJP Government. “Rahul Gandhi has been vocal on the failures of BJP. This is the reason that the Government is targeting him to suppress any criticism,” he said and added that silencing of leaders was also being aggressively practiced by the ruling party to protect their lies.Singh alleged that the BJP was shamelessly misusing institutions as weapons to be used against political opponents and shut down the criticisms. “Corruption is at the heart of BJP’s politics and their neglect of national issues of importance is seriously endangering the welfare of the common people. It is not wrong to say that the middle class and poor are suffering immensely on all accounts and BJP should look into the mirror,” he said.
