Congress intensified demand for JPC on Adani issue.

Jammu, February 17 :- AICC leader and AICC Incharge party affairs Punjab & Chandigarh, Shri Harish Choudhary today launched a scatting attack on the Modi Govt. on the Adani issue questioning silence of the PM Modi on the demand for a JPC probe.

Intensifying its campaign seeking JPC probe, the AICC today held simultaneous Press Conferences at 23 places across Country including Jammu and Kashmir today, to put the Modi on test over the issue.

Addressing a Press Conference at Press Club here today, flanked by JKPCC President Shri Vikar Rasool Wani, Working President Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Former Minister Yogesh Sawhney, Shri Choudhary questioned the silence of PM Modi over the major demand of JPC into the  Mega Scam involving the hard earned money of the crores of countrymen.

Shri Choudhary  made  serious charges that during the period between 24 January  to 15 February 2023, the share value of Adani group noticed a downfall of 10,50,000 Crore. The value of shares of Adani group purchased by LIC was 83,000 Crores on Sept. 30, 2022 which fall to 39,000 Crores on Feb. 15, 2023 which means loss of 44,000 Crores of the savings of 30 Crore LIC policy holders.

He said, despite all this, the Modi Govt compelled LIC to invest additional 300 Crore in the follow-on public offer (FPO) of the Adani enterprises, he alleged.

On 19 July 2021, the Finance Ministry had admitted in the Parliament, that Adani group is under investigation on the charges of violations of the norms of SEBI but still the  Adani Group was allowed, a hike in the value of its shares in  the market. The promoters of Adani group were also found to be involved  in the share market fraud in the 2001 Khetan  Darekh scam, he added.

Inspite of all these charges, instead of ordering a probe, the Prime Minister Modi has offered more opportunities during its “ Mitar Kaal” budget this year, he Alleged stating that on June 14, 2022, Adani group announced investment of 50 Billion dollar in the “ total energy “ of France, as partnership in the green hydrogen, while on 4 January 2023, the Central Finance Ministry granted sanction of 19744 Crore for nation green hydrogen Mision. However the “ Total Energy” has stopped its partnership in this project & whether there is any Business announcement of Adani group whereby any subsidy was not paid out of investors money.

Similary the Finance Minister announced in the ‘Mitar Kaal’ budget on       1^st Feb., the revival of 50 airports, how many out of them would benefit Adani  group, he questioned.

It is known fact that in a very short span Adani group has got control over the majority of Airports, Ports etc. in 2019, Adani group got control six out of six  airports from Govt. while in 2021, it got control over Mumbai Chhatarpati  Shivaji International airport, the second most busiest airport, in a  doubtful circumstances.

Today Adani group controls 13 ports and Terminals, which 30% of the total port capability of India and 40% of the total Container Traffic. Is it right to give huge control to a group facing allegations of investment of foreign shell companies etc.

It is publically known that Shri Gautam Adani accompanied PM Modi during several foreign visits After Israel trip of 4-6^th July 2017, Adani group got a major role in India-Israel defence relationship matter without any prior expertise in the field, the group set up joint projects in the field of drones, electronics, small weapons and aero- plane  maintenance  ignoring these are several public sector and Start Up Cos in this field.

Citing several other instances in  the manner, Shri Harish Choudhary lashed out at the BJP Govt. for not responding the call of the nation for a joint parliamentary probe into this serious matter involved hard earned money of crores of Indians.
