Congress paid rich tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh on Tawi bridge
JAMMU, September 23: JKPCC President Shri Vikar Rasool Wani alongwith working President Shri Raman Bhalla, Senior Congress leaders Th Balwan Singh, Yogesh Sawhney, Ravinder Sharma, Th Manmohan Singh,Shabir Ahmed Khan, Th Hari Singh Chib, Bhupinder Singh Jamwal,TS Tony, Shashi Sharma, Narinder Gupta, Neeraj Gupta, Dwarka Choudhary and others today paid floral tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh ji on his statue site at Tawi bridge today amidst large number of people from all walks .
The senior congress leaders assembled at Party Hq Shaheedi chowk Jammu and moved towards the Maharaja’s statue at Tawi bridge in a cavalcade of vehicles. A large number of congress leaders and workers accompanied the congress team.
Paying rich tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh ji, JKPCC President Vikar Rasool Wani recalled his immense contributions as a ruler, who declared that as a ruler he has no religion, his religion is justice to all. It was under his signatures, entire Jammu and Kashmir became integral part of India.
He said that unfortunately the historical state he ruled, has been disbanded, divided and downgraded and all right and protections to the permanent residents of his state, have been removed arbitrarily and unilaterally by the BJP Govt. at the Centre.
He demanded that the historical state be given full statehood and rights as well as democracy should be restored to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir without further delay.
Working President Raman Bhalla also paid rich tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh and demanded that the historical Dogra state of Maharaja should be restored immediately.
He said that the BJP did great disservice to the Maharaja and the people of Jammu and Kashmir by downgrading the Dogra state into a UTand not holding elections for the last five years. He recalled that the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh at the Tawi bridge and the Maharaja Hari Singh Park at the Tawi Bank was established by the congress government in the state.
Chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma while paying rich tributes questioned the BJP as to when the historical state ruled by Maharaja Hari Singh will be restored as it is already more than four years when it was undemocratically disbanded, divided and downgraded into a UT.
Others who paid tributes include Ritu Choudhary, Pawan Dev Singh, Vijay Malhotra,Annirudh Sawhney, Ram Magotra, Kewal Jogi, Rakesh Sharma, Surinder Dogra, Com. Gurmeet Singh, Ravi Panotra, Deepu Singh and others.
