Congress seeks restoration of polling booth

JAMMU, April 01: Congress has taken exception of shifting of polling booth No.73, Jammu Municipal Corporation in Jammu West Assembly Segment.

In a statement JKPCC questioned the shifting of the existing polling booth No.73 from Khayarian in Jammu West to another locality Trilokpur, which is far away from the locality.

JKPCC Senior Vice President and Chief Spokesperson Mr. Ravinder Sharma said that  a delegation of  Congress party led by PCC Secretary Shri Sanjeev Sharma (Panda) alongwith congress leaders Vinay Sharma, Vikas Manhas, Parshotam Kumar, BCC President Darshan Lal Verma, Koushal Kumar visited the area of Khanyarian and met the agitated residents of the locality who complained against this unilateral action of the administration as one sides and against the interests of voters. The delegation has assured the people to take up their demand with the authorities.

The party has taken up the demand with the Returning Officer and written to him to restore the polling both in the area like before in the interest of residents of locality.
