“Congress spreading propaganda that 230 kg gold was used in Kedarnath”: Temple Committee Chairman
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], July 28 (ANI): Slamming the Congress and accusing it of spreading propaganda that 230 kg of gold was used in Kedarnath Temple, Ajendra Ajay, President of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, said that they will release the tax invoice of the jeweller to prove that 23 kg of gold was used in the temple.
“We have been saying from the beginning that there was 23 kg of gold in the sanctum sanctorum of Kedarnath and a 1000 kg copper plate was installed in it, but some Congress leaders are spreading propaganda under the conspiracy that 230 kg gold was used in Kedarnath. Today we are releasing the tax invoice of the jeweller who used gold in the Kedarnath temple, in which all the details are given about how much gold and copper were used there,” he said.
Further, he accused the Congress of spreading lies because of the by-elections that will be held in Kedarnath soon.
“As the Assembly by-elections are to be held in Kedarnath, the Congress people are spreading such propaganda without any facts and evidence. Such unfortunate and condemnable allegations are being made by the Congress and its supporters only to create a sensation,” Apendra Ajay added.
Earlier, on July 15, Swami Avimukteshwaranand alleged that 228 kg of gold was missing from Kedarnath.
“There is a gold scam in Kedarnath; why is that issue not raised? After doing a scam there, now Kedarnath will be built in Delhi? And then there will be another scam. 228 kg of gold is missing from Kedarnath; no inquiry has started. Who is responsible for this?” Swami Avimukteshwaranand said.
The Shankaracharya further claimed that demands for an investigation into this issue had been raised with the Commissioner, but he didn’t investigate the case properly.
“Earlier, it was said that 320 kg of gold had been missing, then it decreased to 228, then it became 36, 32, and 27 simultaneously. Whether the number is 320, 228, 36, 32, or 27, the problem is, where did it go? How can gold turn into brass? Demands for investigation have been raised with the Commissioner, but he didn’t investigate the case properly. What are the reasons behind the missing gold from the temple? This is a huge scam,” he said.
