Congress will vigorously counter BJP Govt’s false narratives, expose its misdeeds: Hari Singh

JAMMU, FEB 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC)  has strongly condemned the BJP government at the Centre alleging that the period of ten years of NDA government has been marked by misgovernance, sky rocketing inflation and communal polarisation.

Speaking at the meeting held here today, Hari Singh, Party Vice President JKPCC, while questioning the Bharatiya Janata Party on its promise of ‘Achhe Din’ to the people before elections accused the saffron party of only creating false narratives making tall claims of its so called achievements while the reality remains that it has beyond any doubt proved its Govt to be merely a ‘Jumla Govt’. He said that every other day claims are being made by the BJP and its Govt about restoring normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory while the situation on ground is quite contrary. He said that despite giving a free hand to the security forces the terrorists continue to strike at their free will resorting to the targeted killings that have reached even the Jammu province now.

The senior Congress leader asked that if the Govt is claiming normalcy in J&K then why the people of this region are being denied the democratic government. He said that what justification the Govt can give for not holding Assembly elections here despite having decided to hold the Parliamentary elections.  

Hari Singh Chib stated that the height of things is that the Govt is projecting wrong figures regarding economy, employment and other significant issues even in the Parliament and before the Parliamentary panels. He said that the information provided by the Central Govt Minister to the members of Parliamentary Committee regarding recruitment of lakhs of youth and that Article 370 having brought benefits to J&K people is only a fallacy. He said that terrorism has not stopped in J&K after Art 370 abrogation and the number of unemployed youth has further gone up during the present regime.

Asserting that BJP has been befooling the people of the Jammu and Kashmir by propagating false narratives of unprecedented development and transparency in this UT, Hari Singh Chib emphasized that Congress will continue to vigorously counter the fallacious agenda of the saffron party.
